Job Purpose: To lead, manage, and develop the academic and administrative activities of the Occupational Therapy department, ensuring compliance with RGUHS, statutory councils, and institutional norms. The principal will be responsible for academic excellence, faculty development, student welfare, and clinical collaboration in the field of Occupational Therapy. Key Responsibilities: 1) Academic Leadership: Oversee curriculum delivery as per RGUHS and AIOTA guidelines. Ensure timely conduct of classes, examinations, internal assessments, and university coordination. Promote research, publications, and evidence-based practice in occupational therapy. Guide faculty and students in research, innovation, and academic writing. Initiate academic audits and continuous improvements in teaching-learning methods. 2) Administrative Responsibilities: Serve as the administrative head of the BOT program. Coordinate with RGUHS for all academic, examination, affiliation, and inspection requirements. Manage faculty recruitment, development, and performance reviews. Ensure proper student admissions, attendance monitoring, and grievance redressal. 3) Compliance & Accreditation: Ensure adherence to RGUHS, AIOTA, and UGC norms for academic quality, infrastructure and staffing. Prepare documentation for RGUHS inspections, AIOTA recognition, and institutional reviews. 4) Clinical & Institutional Collaboration: Develop and maintain MoUs with hospitals and rehab centers for clinical postings. Ensure that clinical training and patient exposure meet the required standards. Liaise with external stakeholders, rehabilitation centers, and public health agencies for community outreach and internships. 5) Quality Assurance & Student Development: Promote co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Maintain student discipline, mentoring systems, and career guidance. Establish systems for feedback and curriculum review. Eligibility Criteria (as per RGUHS/AIOTA Norms): Educational Qualification: Masterβs in Occupational Therapy (MOT) from a recognized institution. Desirable: Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy or Allied Health Sciences. Experience: Minimum 10 years teaching/research/clinical experience in Occupational Therapy, of which at least 5 years should be in a leadership role (e.g., Professor or HOD). Must be a registered member of the All India Occupational Therapists Association (AIOTA). Skills & Competencies: Strong academic and clinical knowledge of Occupational Therapy. Leadership, team management, and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with RGUHS academic systems, LMS, and digital platforms.
