Power Bi Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to business requirements.
• Create robust data models, measures, and calculated columns using DAX and Power Query (M).
• Integrate and transform data from multiple sources including SQL databases, APIs, Excel, Azure, and cloud data platforms.
• Ensure accuracy, performance, and scalability of Power BI datasets and visuals.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to define data requirements and KPIs.
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage user access within Power BI Service.
• Optimize report refreshes, visuals, and queries for better data load and performance.
• Publish, schedule, and maintain reports in Power BI Service and integrate them into portals or apps as needed.
• Troubleshoot data issues, ensure data integrity, and continuously enhance reporting processes.

Desired Skill Set

Must-Have:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI (Desktop and Service).
• Strong command over SQL writing queries, joins, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
• Experience in data modeling, ETL, and data transformation using Power Query or equivalent tools.
• Ability to connect and integrate data from various sources (e.g., SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, Excel, REST APIs).
• Strong understanding of DAX functions and their application in building dynamic visuals.
• Experience with Power BI administration, publishing, and workspace management.
• Solid understanding of data relationships, normalization, and performance tuning techniques.

Good to have skills:

• Exposure to Azure Synapse, Data Factory, or Fabric for data orchestration.
• Familiarity with Python or R for data prep or analytics within Power BI.
• Knowledge of Power Automate and Power Apps for extending BI workflows.
• Experience with data governance and security best practices in enterprise BI environments.
