Key Responsibilities:

Power BI Development & Data Modelling

• Design, develop, and enhance Power BI dashboards that serve as benchmarks for Citizen Developers.
• Build visually engaging and interactive dashboards aligned with business requirements.
• Optimize existing reports for performance, usability, and scalability.
• Develop semantic data models with proper relationships, hierarchies, and DAX measures.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Power Query.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across multiple data sources.
• Work on migration activities from Tableau to Power BI.
• Implement Copilot/Conversational Analytics using Gen AI capabilities.

Platform Management & Governance

• Assist in managing Power BI workspaces, apps, dataflows, and permissions.
• Support gateway configuration, refresh schedules, and environment governance.
• Maintain documentation for dashboards, data models, and platform processes.
• Enable connectivity through Okta/OAuth to source systems such as Snowflake.
• Create CoE governance framework documents including best practices, developer guides, and migration guides.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with business teams to gather reporting and visualization requirements.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
• Provide recommendations for improving reporting quality, performance, and data usage.

Issue Resolution & Optimization

• Troubleshoot data refresh issues, performance bottlenecks, and DAX errors.
• Ensure reliability, stability, and performance of the Power BI environment.
• Identify enhancement opportunities and propose long-term BI improvements.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 8+ years hands-on experience in Power BI development.
• Strong proficiency in DAX, data modeling, and Power Query (M Language).
• Experience with Power BI Service (workspaces, apps, dataflows, gateways).
• Solid SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases.
• Strong communication skills to work with business and IT teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience as a consultant or working with external partners is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in Power BI Cloud environment is a must.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Exposure to Azure Data Services (ADF, Synapse, SQL DB).
• Knowledge of Power Apps and Power Automate.
• Experience with BI governance, security, and enterprise data practices.
• Real-time data streaming solutions to Power BI.
• Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Professional certification.
