PostgreSQL Developer with ETL

Description and Requirements

• Database Design & Development: Design and develop database schemas, functions, and views using PostgreSQL. Utilize advanced techniques to ensure that the database architecture is efficient, scalable, and optimized for performance, especially for very large datasets.
• Azure SaaS Applications: Develop and maintain applications deployed in the Azure environment, ensuring smooth integration between PostgreSQL databases and Azure SaaS-based solutions.
• Data Quality & Integrity: Implement processes to maintain data integrity and consistency across databases and systems, ensuring reliable and accurate data for business use. Ensure data integrity and accuracy through testing and validation.
• ETL (Extract Transform Load): Maintain the process of extracting large datasets in different file formats and transforming said data into an appropriate format that can be loaded into the database and/or the application.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, data engineers, and business analysts to understand and fulfill data requirements. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, performance problems, and data discrepancies. Utilize advanced debugging and diagnostic tools to pinpoint and address issues quickly.
• Documentation & Reporting: Create clear and concise documentation for database structures, processes, and optimizations. Provide reports on database performance, query execution times, and ongoing optimization efforts.

• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL.
• Advanced experience in database design, data modeling, and performance optimization for handling very large datasets.
• Expertise in integrating customer data via APIs and ensuring data synchronization between systems.
• 5+ years of experience in database development, with a focus on PostgreSQL.
• Proven experience in database optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with cloud-based database solutions (particularly Azure).
• Experience with or knowledge of the CPG industry and familiarity with TPM (Trade Promotion Management) concepts is a plus.
• Experience working with GitHub, Linux, and IntelliJ IDEA
