Plc Automation Engineer

Role Overview

• Design, develop, and maintain PLC-based control systems for industrial automation projects.
• Program, configure, and optimize drives (VFDs and Servo) and integrate them with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other automation components.
• Provide on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support to ensure reliable system performance.

PLC Programming

• Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs using Siemens and Allen Bradley platforms.
• Expertise in ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagrams (FBD).
• Design complete control systems including PLC I/O mapping and control strategies.

Drive Programming & Optimization

• Program and configure VFDs and Servo Drives, with drive selection, tuning, and optimization responsibilities.
• Troubleshoot drive issues to ensure efficient operation within industrial processes.

System Integration & Commissioning

• Integrate PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and other automation components.
• Handle installation, commissioning, and testing of new products at customer sites.
• Ensure seamless integration, compliance with project specifications, and reliable operation.

HMI Programming

• Develop and integrate HMI screens for process control, including Unified HMI migrations.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript and VB scripting for HMI design.

Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare detailed documentation including control design, logic descriptions, configuration details, wiring diagrams, commissioning procedures, and troubleshooting reports.
• Work with circuit diagrams, panel layouts, BOM preparation, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet).

Customer Support

• Provide on-site technical support and resolve system issues.
• Ensure reliable control system performance post-installation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 48 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley).
• Strong experience in Servo and VFD drive selection, programming, and optimization.
• Experience in process automation, real-time process control, and automated manufacturing systems.
• HMI programming expertise, including Unified HMI, JavaScript, and VB scripting.
• Proficiency in E-Plan, circuit diagrams, panel integration, and control panel design.
• Knowledge of switchgear, panel layouts, BOM preparation, and industrial communication protocols.
• Project management exposure is an advantage.
