Plant Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end plant operations including receiving, grading, washing, sorting, packing, and dispatch of fresh produce.
• Ensure optimal utilization of resourcesmanpower, materials, and machineryto achieve daily production targets.
• Monitor process flow to maintain freshness, hygiene, and safety standards.
• Implement SOPs for handling, storage, and packaging to minimize wastage and post-harvest losses.
• Plan daily and weekly operations based on demand forecasts and supply schedules.
• Coordinate with procurement, logistics, quality, and sales teams for smooth operational flow.
• Manage shift planning, attendance, and workforce allocation.
• Ensure all products meet defined quality parameters and customer specifications.
• Maintain plant hygiene, temperature control, and cold chain integrity.
• Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of equipment and utilities.
• Implement safety protocols and ensure adherence to EHS standards.
• Supervise and motivate plant staff and contract labor to achieve operational excellence.
• Conduct regular training sessions on quality, hygiene, and safety practices.
• Maintain daily production and dispatch records.
• Share operational reports, productivity metrics, and wastage analysis with management.

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate / Postgraduate in Agriculture, Food Technology, or related discipline.
• 5 to 6 years of experience in Fresh Fruits & Vegetables, Food Processing, or Agri Supply Chain industry.
• Experience in managing large teams and multiple stakeholders.
