Plant Manager (Continuous process plant)

Role & responsibilities

1. Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Plant (Operations) department, provides guidance, encourages teamwork and facilitates related professional work processes in order to achieve desired performance standards.

2. Keeps a tab on the critical jobs being carried out in the plant critical evaluation of safety permits and ensures that all safeguards are in place to avoid accidents or downtime which may also attract statutory implications.

3. Coordinates planning of shut down and critical jobs, coordination with external licensors/contractors regarding process activities like catalyst replacement etc

4. The role is responsible and accountable for handling hazardous unit processes and major unit operations, critical parameters, high-cost catalysts. The plant is a potential hazard as it can cause toxic release of gases, fire and explosion. Hence the role requires the followings to be performed effectively.

5. Effective troubleshooting and quick decisions to avoid downtime and hazardous situations.

6. Ensuring that safety systems are being followed, if any lacunae in or deviations from the system are observed, the same is to be corrected timely.

7. Coordinating with maintenance departments to plan critical jobs, study recurrent failures, long pending jobs, preventive maintenance and shutdown jobs, the lack of which would result in substantial financial loss.

8. Continuous improvement in efficiency and systems.

Oversee all plant operations, safety, and compliance. Align production with business goals. Lead crisis management and budget control, facilitate continuous improvement of operational efficiencies, safety standards and talent development.

Preferred candidate profile

Chemical Engineer

15+ years of continuous Petrochemical plant experience in equivalent position, preferably in Methylamines plants.
