Job Summary The Plant Head for the Solar Structure Line is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Solar Structure production process, ensuring operational excellence, quality, safety, and efficiency. This leadership role involves managing the Solar Structure lines day-to-day operations, driving productivity, optimizing resources, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational goals. The Plant Head will lead a team of supervisors, engineers, and workers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Key Responsibilities 1. Production Management o Oversee the entire Solar Structure line, including planning, scheduling, and execution of production activities to meet delivery timelines and quality standards. o Ensure optimal utilization of machinery, raw materials, and manpower to achieve production targets. o Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, downtime, yield, and scrap rates, implementing corrective actions as needed. 2. Quality Assurance o Ensure all fabricated products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality control requirements. o Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to implement robust quality control processes and address non-conformities. o Drive initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and waste in the Solar Structure process. 3. Team Leadership & Development o Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of supervisors, engineers, technicians, and operators to achieve operational goals. o Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and facilitate skill development programs. o Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and accountability. 4. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement o Identify opportunities to enhance Solar Structure processes through lean manufacturing, automation, or technological upgrades. o Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety. o Drive Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies to improve efficiency and productivity. 5. Safety & Compliance o Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and training to maintain a safe working environment. o Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations related to manufacturing operations. 6. Budget & Resource Management o Develop and manage the plants budget, controlling costs related to labor, materials, and maintenance. o Oversee maintenance schedules for Production equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life. 7. Stakeholder Collaboration o Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, supply chain and sales to align production with business objectives. o Provide regular updates to senior management on plant performance, challenges, and strategic recommendations. o Act as the primary point of contact for customers or auditors visiting the Solar Structure facility.
