Job Description

Role Overview: As a Consultant Planning & Merchandising for one of our clients in the software development industry, you will collaborate with leading fashion and retail brands to enhance their planning, buying, and merchandising strategies. This role is suited for individuals who excel in problem-solving, optimizing inventory performance, and enhancing end-to-end merchandising efficiency. You will play a pivotal role at the intersection of data, product, and business, contributing directly to strategic decision-making for innovative retail organizations. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the complete implementation lifecycle of the organization's merchandising and planning platform for assigned clients, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, training, and go-live. - Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend data-driven process or system enhancements to improve planning accuracy, buying decisions, and inventory control. - Translate client business objectives into actionable merchandising workflows utilizing the product's capabilities. - Maintain regular communication with client teams through check-ins, business reviews, and performance discussions to ensure successful system adoption. - Develop trusted advisory relationships with merchandising heads, planners, buyers, and cross-functional leadership at client organizations. - Collaborate closely with the product and engineering teams to address issues, provide feedback, and enhance product features continuously. - Assist in change management activities by aiding clients in adopting new planning methodologies, analytical dashboards, and process automation. - Analyze sales, stock, OTB, pricing, and regional performance metrics to derive insights guiding client merchandising decisions. - Contribute to improving platform performance by sharing industry trends, user behavior insights, and recommendations for optimization. - Prepare structured reports, presentations, and dashboards to effectively communicate findings and strategic recommendations. Qualifications Required: - 2-4 years of hands-on experience in planning, buying, or merchandising in the retail sector, preferably in fashion or lifestyle categories. - Strong analytical mindset with proficient mathematical abilities and the skill to translate data into actionable business strategies. - Demonstrated experience in collaborating with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on presentation and client-facing interactions. - Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to planning tools or merchandising systems is advantageous. - Demonstrated ownership, assertiveness, and the ability to excel under pressure and tight timelines.
