Role & responsibilities

Phlebotomist Roles & Responsibilities

Perform
accurate and hygienic blood sample collection
from patients at home or designated locations
Follow
standard phlebotomy protocols
for venipuncture, capillary sampling, and specimen handling
Ensure
proper labeling, packaging, and transportation
of samples to the diagnostic lab
Maintain
patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality
at all times
Adhere strictly to
infection control, safety, and hygiene standards
Verify
patient identity, test requisitions, and documentation
before sample collection
Update sample collection status using
mobile apps / digital systems
provided by the company
Manage daily routes efficiently to ensure
on-time collections
Handle patients professionally, including
elderly, pediatric, and special-care cases
Report sample issues, delays, or re-collection needs promptly
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of phlebotomy kits and consumables
Coordinate with operations, logistics, and lab teams for smooth workflow
Follow company SOPs, compliance guidelines, and quality benchmarks
