We are seeking a detail-oriented Scientific Image Annotator to support our cell biology research,
focusing on HCT-116 human colon cancer cell line viability and morphology analysis. The
successful candidate will be responsible for accurately labeling components in high-content
microscopy images to train machine learning models. The role requires adherence to stringent
quality standards and the ability to apply feedback in a timely manner.
1. Image Annotation: Precisely annotate microscopy images based on established cell
biology criteria.
2. Viability Assessment: Accurately label live cells (cell-permeant fluorescent dye precursor
markers) and dead cells (using markers for membrane compromise).
3. Artifact/Debris Identification: Isolate and label non-cellular elements, including air
bubbles, cell debris, and cellular aggregates.
4. Quality Assurance: Ensure high annotation consistency and adherence to predefined
labeling protocols specific to fluorescent microscopy techniques.
● Strong theoretical or practical background in Cell Biology and Fluorescence Microscopy.
● Familiarity with visual identification of cellular components, morphology, and artifacts
common in cell culture.
● Exceptional attention to detail and precision for rigorous data labeling.
● Experience with, or willingness to learn, image annotation software tools.
