Job Description

Purchase Pharmacy Assistant

Job Summary:

The Purchase Pharmacy Assistant supports the pharmacy procurement function by ensuring timely, cost-effective purchasing of medicines and medical supplies. The role focuses on inventory control, vendor coordination, compliance, billing verification, and stock auditing across pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage cost-effective procurement and inventory of pharmacy drugs and medical products.
Maintain optimal stock levels to ensure uninterrupted pharmacy operations.
Prepare and issue purchase orders to primary and alternate vendors (online/manual).
Coordinate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, new drugs, and offers.
Ensure vendor compliance, payment follow-ups, and documentation accuracy.
Handle drug returns based on expiry calculations and stock movement.
Identify alternative brands or generic options for non-available medicines.
Perform SRRV pharmacy stock audits and inventory reconciliation.
Manage bulk pharmacy procurement for Home Medicines and medical camps.
Prepare doctor-wise and monthly pharmacy sales and profit reports.
Conduct Pharmacy Therapeutic Committee (PTC) meetings with doctors.
Handle monthly general medicine procurement for all branches and follow-ups.
Verify purchase bills, tax details, and vendor information in Tally.
Maintain pharmacy purchase records, bulk bills, and Tally entries.
Follow up on credit and debit notes with vendors.
Support cashier duties as an alternate when required.
Perform stock audits for K.K. Nagar and Bulk Pharmacy locations.

Qualifications

D.Pharm or B.Pharm (Mandatory)

Experience

2 to 4 years
of relevant experience in pharmacy purchase, inventory, or bulk pharmacy operations.
