Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently to patients.
Review and verify prescriptions for dosage, drug interactions, and contraindications.
Provide patient counseling on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage.
Maintain and update patient medication records and documentation.
Manage inventory of medicines, consumables, and pharmacy supplies.
Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of drugs as per regulatory guidelines.
Monitor and maintain controlled drug registers as per statutory compliance.
Ensure billing and pricing accuracy of medicines and OTC products.
Promote health awareness and recommend OTC medicines and wellness products when appropriate.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the pharmacy.
Ensure customer satisfaction through professional, polite, and efficient service delivery

Preferred candidate profile

Should have hands-on experience in retail or hospital pharmacy operations.
Ability to dispense medications accurately and verify prescriptions with strong attention to detail.
Must be knowledgeable about drug compositions, dosage, interactions, and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills with the ability to counsel patients professionally and clearly.
In-depth knowledge of medicines, drugs, and pharmaceutical regulations.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in prescriptions.
Proficiency in medication safety and drug interaction analysis.
Excellent customer service and patient counselling skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in pharmacy inventory management and billing software.
Ethical, responsible, and compliant with pharmacy practice standards.
