  • Valid and available-for-use registered pharmacy license;
  • Salary range for the position: INR 14,000 - 17,000 per month (all-inclusive; benchmarked);

Educational Qualifications

  • 10+2 with Science (Physics & Chemistry); Degree / Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) from recognized University / Institute; B. Pharma preferred;
  • Completion of hospital residency preferred;
  • Valid Pharmacy Council of India license/certificate is mandatory for this position. Must be registered with the Pharmacy Council under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act
  • Must be registered as a pharmacist with Uttarakhand Pharmacy Council;
  • Computer proficiency with familiarity of data management and commonly used packages like MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Email etc.

Experience (years and nature)

  • Experience range (in years): 1-2 years
  • Hospital/Hospice pharmacy residency preferred.

JOB DUTIES (including, but not limited to)

  • To ensure safe practice in the prescribing, storage, administration and documentation of medication;
  • To efficiently order, dispense and distribute drugs, medicines, and medical supplies for inpatients and ensure their safe storage, labelling, documentation, and destruction;
  • Do regular stock-taking and stock-check; maintaining First-in-First-Out (FIFO); Maintaining FSN (Fast/Slow-Moving, Non-Moving) for items and initiating appropriate corrective measures;
  • Keeping detailed, up-to-date, easy to interpret, and error-free record in books and electronically, of medicines and surgical supplies received, used, and dispensed at Ganga Prem Hospice inpatient facility, home care, OPDs, and in any other activity;
  • Maintain accurate and error-free opioid records of each and every tablet/unit ordered/dispensed/received-back according to RMI and other applicable standards and guidelines;
  • Ensure compliance with all RMI guidelines and other state and national guidelines related to a medical/hospice facility;
  • Ensuring any other pharmacy-related legal compliances for the hospice;
  • Work towards accreditation of the hospice with accreditation boards, as may be directed by Ganga Prem Hospice management;
  • Keeping all medicine supplies labelled according to national/international standards, and as advised by senior medical and administration team of Ganga Prem Hospice;
  • To review and improve policies and procedures relevant to medicines management and to assess the risks associated with those policies and procedures;
  • To monitor the medicine expense and ensure that the Hospice optimizes its financial resources, also to write regular reports on spending and to advise seniors of any predicted overspend or wastage;
  • Ensure proper utilisation of reusable items/stock;
  • Actively participating in, and initiating cost-saving measures in pharmacy;
  • Daily collaboration with the nurse, physician, and other team members in the clinical management of patients and their pharmacotherapy;
  • To attend ward rounds and monitor drug charts ensuring safe prescribing of medication, under guidance and instruction of Medical Director, Doctor-in-charge;
  • Maintaining excellent verbal and written communication with the team, patients, and patients' family members and carers;
  • Speaking with patients, their care-givers, in an empathetic manner, while respecting patient confidentiality;
  • To participate flexibly in the care of inpatients, outpatients and other patients;
  • To help patients and carers to understand about their medicines and their role;
  • Assisting in liaison with donors (individual and organizational) for procuring of medical supplies for the hospice;
  • Ensure that the hospice has zero wastage and expiry of medicines and medical supplies;
  • Maintaining pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies;
  • Attending CME sessions held at, and organized by the hospice;
  • To attend multi-disciplinary clinical and other meetings when required;
  • Represent Ganga Prem Hospice at professional or educational fora wherever the pharmacist may be recommended for participation;
  • Protecting patients, medical and non-medical staff by adhering to infection-control protocols;
  • Maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations;
  • Working in cross-functional tasks and activities by organising and/or participating;
  • Receiving work-related instructions and advice from superiors and peers with positivity;
  • Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹17,000.00 per month
