The DAV Group - Chennai, functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students. The Group today, caters to over 40,000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1,200 teachers. Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 15 schools in the country.

In addition to K-12 schooling, DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts & Science at Kelambakkam, Chennai.

In this context, we would be interested in recruiting suitable candidates for the position of a qualified Mathematics teacher for senior‑secondary classes (Grades 11 & 12). The teacher will deliver advanced mathematics lessons, guide students through board-level curriculum, and (optionally) support preparation for competitive exams (e.g. JEE/NEET), building conceptual clarity and problem‑solving skills.

Educational Qualification

Master’s degree in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics from a recognized university.
Professional teaching qualification (e.g. B.Ed or equivalent) as per school/board norms (preferred or required).

Roles & Responsibilities

Plan and deliver structured Mathematics lessons for Classes 11 and 12, covering the full syllabus.
Prepare lesson plans, assignments, problem sets; conduct regular assessments (tests, quizzes, exams), evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
Provide extra support or remedial help to students needing additional guidance (especially for tough topics or exam preparation).
Guide and mentor students preparing for board exams or competitive entrance exams (if school allows), offering additional support, doubt-clearing, and exam‑strategy sessions.
Maintain class records — attendance, academic performance, progress and results.
Create and maintain a disciplined, supportive, and encouraging classroom environment.
Collaborate with other teachers and school staff for curriculum planning, co‑curricular academic activities (math clubs, problem-solving sessions), and overall school functioning.

Experience in coaching or preparing students for competitive exams (e.g. entrance exams, medical/engineering/other) would be considered a strong plus.

Ability to mentor and motivate students, especially those preparing for board and competitive exams — offering extra classes / doubt‑clearing / problem‑solving sessions.
