Working Days/Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM 6:00 PM

Availability: Must be available beyond office hours and weekends for patching or reboot activities as required

Role Overview:

• The Patch Management Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end patch management across all servers and end-user systems within Company.
• The engineer will ensure systems remain secure, compliant, and updated with all relevant OS and application patches.
• When patching cycles are not active, the engineer will support the IT Infrastructure Support Team in additional operational activities such as server deployment, vulnerability remediation, and system administration.
• The role requires a multi-skilled engineer with solid knowledge in both Windows and Linux administration (L1 level).

Key Responsibilities:

* Server Patch Management

* Plan, test, and execute patch deployment for Windows servers using HCL BigFix Patch Management.

* Verify and ensure installation of mandatory and prerequisite software (BigFix, CrowdStrike, and others as per provided list).

* Coordinate patching windows, handle reboots, and perform validation after patch application.

* Monitor and maintain patch compliance across all server systems.

* Troubleshoot patching failures and provide quick resolutions.

* Follow and maintain the Patch Management Process (PMP) documentation and ensure compliance.

* Perform out-of-schedule patching for urgent vulnerabilities or security fixes as required.

* End-User Patch Management

* Manage and deploy OS and application updates for end-user systems (laptops/desktops) using BigFix.

* Ensure endpoint compliance, addressing missing patches or agent issues.

* Validate that security applications (e.g., CrowdStrike, antivirus, etc.) are installed, running, and up to date.

* BigFix Administration & Application Deployment

* Create, configure, and manage BigFix patching and application deployment policies.

* Manage BigFix infrastructure for both servers and endpoints across all Company locations.

* Handle OS and application deployment through BigFix, ensuring consistency and compliance.

* Maintain and optimize BigFix baselines, fixlets, and deployment jobs.

* Generate and maintain patch compliance and deployment reports.

* Infrastructure Support (Outside Patch Cycles)

* Assist the IT Infrastructure Support Team with:

* Server deployment and setup (Windows and Linux).

* Vulnerability management and coordination with the security team for remediation.

* System monitoring and basic troubleshooting as an L1 support engineer.

* Participate in general IT operations and ensure the stability of the infrastructure.

* Provide support for ongoing IT projects and deployments as required.

* Coordination and Reporting

* Maintain regular patch compliance and activity reports.

* Coordinate with IT, Security, and Change Management teams for planned patching activities.

* Ensure minimal disruption during patching and server deployment through effective planning and communication.

Candidate Requirements:

* Strong hands-on experience with HCL BigFix Patch Management, including policy creation, application management, and OS/application deployment (mandatory).

* Solid understanding of Windows Server and Linux administration (L1 level).

* Experience with vulnerability management, remediation, and compliance tracking.

* Knowledge of endpoint and server security tools such as CrowdStrike, antivirus, and other compliance agents.

* Excellent troubleshooting, coordination, and communication skills.

* Must be multi-skilled, capable of handling both patch management and infrastructure support tasks.

Availability:

* During active patch cycles dedicated to patching, deployment, and compliance reporting.

* During non-patching periods support infrastructure, deployments, and vulnerability activities.

* One-day sudden leave is acceptable; for leave exceeding two days, a backup resource must be arranged to ensure continuity of operations.

* Willing to work beyond regular hours or weekends when required.

Expectation from Vendor:

* Provide a multi-skilled engineer fulfilling the above criteria, based in Mumbai (Company).

* Ensure timely deployment of the resource before the current resource moves out to enable proper Knowledge Transfer (KT).

* Maintain billing transparency the rate charged versus the amount paid to the resource should be fair and reasonable.

* Ensure the provided resource adds value, reliability, and operational efficiency to the IT support function.
