Panel Testing Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Panel Testing (Factory Stage)

• Perform routine and type testing of electrical control and power panels as per IEC/IS standards.
• Conduct visual inspection for wiring, termination, labelling, and component mounting.
• Verify control logic, interlocks, and protection schemes using schematic drawings.
• Test functional performance of relays, meters, contactors, and protection devices.
• Carry out insulation resistance (IR), high voltage (HV), and continuity tests.
• Ensure proper configuration and parameter settings for PLCs, relays, and other intelligent devices.
• Prepare detailed FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) reports and obtain client approval.

2. Site Installation & Commissioning

• Supervise installation and erection of control & power panels at site.
• Perform pre-commissioning checks and ensure correct cable connections and terminations.
• Conduct site testing including continuity, insulation, and functional checks.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and client representatives during commissioning.
• Verify protection settings, logic operation, and system integration with field equipment.
• Perform commissioning of LV/MV panels, PCC, MCC, APFC, PLC panels, and relay panels.
• Prepare and submit SAT (Site Acceptance Test) reports and commissioning documentation.

3. Documentation & Quality

• Maintain proper documentation of test reports, calibration certificates, and checklists.
• Ensure all activities comply with company quality procedures and safety standards.
• Support the preparation of as-built drawings and test certificates.
• Assist in troubleshooting, rectification, and technical support during and after commissioning.

4. Coordination & Support

• Communicate effectively with design, production, and project management teams.
• Provide feedback to design teams for improvements based on site observations.
• Attend client inspections and resolve technical queries during FAT/SAT.
• Train operators or maintenance personnel on system operation if required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education:

  Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in

  Electrical or Electronics Engineering

  .

• Experience:

  2 to 5 years of experience in testing

  Control & Relay Panels

  , preferably in power, utility, or industrial sectors.

• Other Requirements:

  Willingness to travel as per project or site requirements.
