Paint shop supervisor

As a Paint Shop Supervisor at our manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad - Pirana, you will be a crucial part of the team responsible for overseeing the paint shop operations. Your role will involve managing various aspects of the paint shop to ensure efficient production, maintain quality standards, and collaborate with different departments to achieve organizational goals. Key Responsibilities: - Manage all operations of the paint shop, including pretreatment, powder coating, and blasting, to ensure efficient workflows. - Implement and maintain quality control procedures for all coated components, including visual inspections, film thickness measurements, and adhesion tests. - Coordinate production schedules, manage material inventory, and optimize resource allocation to meet production targets. - Ensure proper functioning of all paint shop equipment, including powder coating systems, blasting equipment, and pretreatment lines. - Enforce strict safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all paint shop personnel. - Identify and resolve issues related to coating defects, equipment malfunctions, and production bottlenecks. - Possess knowledge of abrasive blasting techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures. - Familiarity with different types of coating materials, such as primers, topcoats, and specialty coatings. - Basic knowledge of chemicals like primer, putty, hardener, and topcoat. - Ability to apply primer and topcoat while maintaining the required Dry Film Thickness (DFT) using brush and spray gun applications. - Proficiency in applying putty and knowledge of surface preparation techniques for rework and repainting. - Understanding of proper chemical storage conditions and safe handling practices. - Knowledge of flash-off time, drying time, and pot life. - Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and Technical Data Sheet (TDS). - Ability to prepare Work Instructions (WI) and procedures. - Familiarity with painting tools like spray guns, brushes, and rollers. - Understanding of correct paint mixing ratios and various paint systems such as epoxy-based and PU-based. Skills and Qualifications: - Educational Requirements: Diploma in Paint / Chemical / Mechanical. - Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and tools. - Familiarity with CAD software or production management tools is a plus. Experience: - 2 to 4 years of experience in the same field in an engineering company.
