Package Consultant

As a Senior Engineer (Packaging & Sustainability) at our client, a Top 5 Software giant in India, you will have the opportunity to spearhead the development of next-generation packaging solutions aligned with global sustainability goals and client-specific requirements. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading the development of sustainable packaging innovations, meeting EU regulations and international standards such as TAPPI, ISO, ISTA-6A, and ISPM-15 - Conducting ideation workshops and design reviews using advanced CAD/CAE tools like SolidWorks, Creo, Adobe Illustrator, and Artios CAD - Leading the concept-to-prototype development of packaging solutions using various design software - Delivering transport-ready packaging solutions that are plastic-free, lighter, more compact, and reusable for multiple cycles - Replacing single-use plastics with biodegradable, recyclable, and reusable packaging solutions - Conducting packaging validation, testing, and quantification for global clients according to relevant standards - Ensuring compliance with international standards and supporting technical documentation for audits and certifications In addition to the above responsibilities, you will also be expected to: - Lead cost optimization initiatives through packaging redesign, material substitution, and process improvements - Oversee packaging validation and compliance for multiple markets including US, European, and APMEA regions - Manage cross-functional collaboration with design, procurement, sustainability, and quality teams - Lead vendor scouting, development, and audit processes to build a robust and compliant supply chain ecosystem Moreover, your role will involve: - Championing the integration of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools to assess and reduce Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) across packaging portfolios - Developing and implementing plastic-free, biodegradable, and reusable packaging systems while setting benchmarks for industry compliance - Creating SOPs, technical documentation, and sustainability reports for internal and client use - Maintaining knowledge repositories and contributing to organizational learning and capability building - Collaborating with design, procurement, and sustainability teams to align packaging with product requirements - Mentoring and training professionals in Sustainable Management Technology and LCA tools Your qualifications for this role include a BE in Mechanical, Printing Technology, or Industrial Engineering, along with 6-10 years of relevant experience in packaging and sustainability.
