Job Description

Role Overview: As a Business Development Manager at a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Plant in Navi Mumbai, your main responsibility will be to drive business growth by securing new purchase orders from domestic and international clients. This role involves identifying partnership opportunities, expanding contract manufacturing business, and ensuring optimal plant capacity utilization. Your success in this role will depend on your strong pharmaceutical market knowledge, client engagement, and commercial negotiation skills. Key Responsibilities: - Identify and develop new business opportunities in domestic and ROW (Rest of World) markets. - Build and maintain relationships with key clients, marketing partners, and procurement heads. - Initiate discussions, respond to inquiries, and convert leads into long-term supply agreements or purchase orders. - Work closely with formulation and regulatory teams to support product dossier submissions or quotations. - Negotiate commercial terms and finalize contracts for supply, CDMO, or P2P manufacturing deals. - Achieve monthly/quarterly targets for new purchase orders, revenue contribution, and plant utilization. - Represent the company in P2P, B2B exhibitions, client visits, and business meetings. - Explore new geographies or product categories (generics, nutraceuticals, oncology, injectables, etc.). - Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth. - Coordinate with production, QA, QC, regulatory, and SCM teams to ensure timely execution of client orders. - Resolve any client-side issues related to quality, timelines, pricing, or technical documentation. - Track and follow up on project status, timelines, and dispatch plans. - Maintain a robust pipeline and CRM tracker of business opportunities. - Provide regular updates to management on order status, revenue forecast, and key accounts. - Ensure all client agreements, NDAs, and purchase orders are documented properly. Qualifications: - B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.Sc. (Science) - Mandatory; MBA in Marketing / International Business - Preferred - 7-12 years of relevant experience in business development or sales in a pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing setup Key Skills: - Strong client relationship and communication skills - Understanding of pharma manufacturing (OSD, injectables, etc.) and regulatory requirements - Commercial acumen and negotiation expertise - Familiarity with international markets and export documentation - Proficiency in CRM tools, Excel, and business presentation tools,
