Out Patient Billing Executive

Job Summary:

The OP Billing Executive is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing of outpatient services, maintaining patient accounts, handling cash/online transactions, verifying insurance details, and supporting smooth financial operations of the hospital’s OP billing section.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate and issue bills for outpatient consultations, diagnostic tests & procedures.
• Collect payments (cash, card, UPI, online, insurance co-payments) and issue receipts.
• Verify patient details, doctor consultation charges, and service codes before billing.
• Ensure correct application of discounts, packages, or insurance policies as per hospital guidelines.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, reception, and diagnostic departments to confirm billed services.
• Check and validate insurance cards / approvals before billing for insured patients.
• Handle patient queries related to bills, charges, and payment modes.
• Maintain daily cash/credit/insurance collection records and submit reports to the accounts department.
• Reconcile daily billing with cash collection and ensure zero discrepancies.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial records.
• Assist in audits and support implementation of hospital billing policies and procedures.
• Provide courteous and professional service to patients to ensure patient satisfaction.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare Administration.

3-5 years of experience in hospital billing (preferably OP billing).

Knowledge of hospital billing software (HIS) and MS Office.

Familiarity with insurance processes, TPA billing, and healthcare tariffs.

Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Ability to handle pressure and multitask in a busy OP environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
