Job Description

Title-OSP Technical Lead Engineer

Work setup-Remote

Employment-Full time role

Required- Recent experience with AT&T project mandatory.


The Technical Lead Engineer is responsible for leading OSP design, engineering, and fielding activities, ensuring quality and accuracy in fielding-related software such as IQGEO and Katapult worked on AT&T project This role guides engineers to deliver client-ready outputs and acts as the technical point of contact between fielding teams, backend engineers, project managers, and clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and validate OSP designs, including poles, spans, anchors, attachments, and drops in fielding Software.
  • Ensure all designs comply with client standards, utility requirements, and safety guidelines
  • Perform regular QA/QC checks on both fielding and backend outputs
  • Guide engineers on Katapult workflows, annotations, and modeling best practices
  • Coordinate closely with fielding teams to clarify pole data, other utility data, photos, access issues, and required corrections.
  • Share QC corrections with fielding teams to prevent repeat issues and maintain a correction log
  • Ensure client changes and scope updates are documented and communicated clearly to the team
  • Participate in client calls to provide technical clarification and resolve design-related issues
  • Maintain QC checklists, change logs, and design documentation
  • Track quality trends, recurring errors, and productivity improvements
  • Escalate technical risks, blockers, and delivery delays to the Project Manager in a timely manner


Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of OSP / FTTH / Aerial & Underground telecom networks
  • Hands-on experience with Katapult Pro, IQGEO, and ARAMIS
  • Knowledge of pole loading, clearances, make-ready, and attachment standards
  • Ability to interpret field photos, pole data, and utility requirements
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills


Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Telecom / Electrical / IT Engineering or a related field


Experience

  • 4–7 years of experience in OSP / Telecom design and with AT&T project.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior OSP engineers is preferred


Tools & Knowledge (Preferred)

  • Katapult Pro / Katapult Field
  • IQGEO
  • Google Earth / GIS tools
  • Utility standards (NESC and client-specific standards)
  • QA/QC frameworks for OSP design
