About the Role:

Orthopedic Surgeon

Key Responsibilities:

• Surgical Expertise: Perform a range of orthopedic procedures including trauma care, fracture fixation, joint replacements (hip, knee, etc.), and other orthopedic surgeries depending on area of expertise.
• Trauma Management: Independently handle orthopedic trauma cases including accident-related injuries, fractures, and emergency surgeries.
• Consultation & Diagnosis: Conduct outpatient consultations to assess, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Develop treatment plans tailored to each patient.
• Inpatient Care: Oversee patient care during hospitalization, including pre-operative preparation and post-operative management to ensure complete recovery.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate closely with radiologists, physiotherapists, anesthesiologists, and emergency physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Emergency Services: Be available for on-call duties and provide immediate orthopedic support for emergencies including fractures, dislocations, and accident injuries.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about the condition, available treatment options, surgical procedures, post-operative care, and preventive strategies.
• Follow-Up Care: Monitor and evaluate patients' recovery post-surgery, adjusting treatments and rehabilitation plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
• Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate medical records, surgery logs, and follow clinical documentation protocols as per hospital standards.
• Quality & Safety: Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards, ensuring the highest level of patient care and hygiene.
  

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Educational Qualification: MBBS with MS / DNB in Orthopedics from a recognized medical college or university.
• Licensing: Valid registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or relevant State Medical Council.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of post-MS/DNB experience in orthopedic surgery; should be able to independently perform orthopedic procedures.
• Technical Skills: Skilled in joint replacement surgeries, orthopedic trauma management, and modern surgical techniques.
• Clinical Judgment: Strong diagnostic abilities and ability to make informed clinical decisions quickly, especially in emergency settings.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff.
• Teamwork: Strong ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
