Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage Modern Trade accounts with primary focus on building strong partnerships and driving growth.
  • Lead joint business planning (JBP) with key modern trade partners (including Vishal Mega Mart, Reliance, Metro CnC etc.).
  • Negotiate and finalize assortment, pricing, margins, terms of trade, promotions, and visibility plans.
  • Drive P&L ownership for Modern Trade accounts and deliver sustainable, profitable growth.
  • Monitor and ensure in-store execution - stock availability, planogram compliance, visibility, and secondary sales targets.
  • Plan and implement marketing and trade activation programs in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews with key stakeholders and ensure timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Analyse sales data, track ROI on trade spends, and provide actionable insights for business growth.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (SCM, Finance, Marketing, Sales Ops) for demand forecasting, supply planning, and new product launches.
  • Keep abreast of competitor activities, industry trends, and evolving customer preferences.

Desired skills/experience:

  • 5-6 years of work experience in FMCG industry, preferably in Modern Trade account management.
  • Strong understanding of Modern Trade business models, sales drivers, and customer dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical ability with proficiency in interpreting data and taking data-backed decisions.
  • High degree of ownership, result orientation, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
