Job Description: Oracle EBS Upgrade Specialist (Technical)

Role Overview

The Oracle EBS Upgrade Specialist (Technical) Resource will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful upgrade and optimization of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) applications. Ideal candidates will have a strong technical background with specific expertise in upgrading Oracle EBS from version 12.1 to 12.2. This role requires a proactive individual who can troubleshoot complex issues, implement innovative solutions, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the upgrade process of Oracle EBS from version 12.1 to 12.2, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
  • Analyse current system configurations and recommend optimization strategies for post-upgrade performance.
  • Develop technical design documents and system enhancement plans for the upgrade.
  • Support application development teams by providing technical expertise during the upgrade process.
  • Monitor and resolve system issues related to Oracle EBS applications post-upgrade.
  • Collaborate with database administrators, functional consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and testing.
  • Perform rigorous testing to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability post-upgrade.
  • Document all processes, changes, and solutions implemented during the upgrade cycle.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS).
  • Proven expertise in upgrading Oracle EBS from version 12.1 to 12.2.
  • Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Forms, Reports, and Workflow Builder.
  • Knowledge of Oracle EBS modules such as Financials & Supply Chain.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle Database architecture and administration.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of patch management and ability to manage application patches efficiently.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Oracle Applications Framework (OAF) and Custom Development Framework (ADF).
  • Familiarity with WebLogic Server and Oracle Middleware technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
