Oracle DBA

As an Oracle DBA at Viraaj HR Solutions, your primary responsibility will be to manage Oracle databases efficiently. This includes tasks such as installation, configuration, migration, and performance tuning to ensure optimal database performance. You will also be in charge of implementing backup and recovery strategies to maintain data security and integrity. Monitoring database performance, troubleshooting issues, and writing and optimizing SQL queries are essential aspects of this role. You will need to manage user access and roles to ensure database security, as well as maintain documentation of database configurations and procedures. Applying patches and updates, collaborating with application developers, and conducting capacity planning for database growth are also part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing disaster recovery solutions, testing backup systems, preparing regular reports on database performance metrics, and providing 24/7 on-call support for critical database issues. Participation in database design reviews and system architecture discussions is crucial to ensure database solutions meet technical requirements. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA. Expertise in Oracle 11g, 12c, and newer versions is required, along with strong knowledge of database architecture and storage management. Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard, proficiency in managing Oracle database security settings, and familiarity with cloud database solutions like AWS and Azure are also necessary. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and knowledge of database automation tools and procedures are essential for this role. Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems, ITIL or other relevant certifications, and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously will be beneficial.
