Optical Solutions Validation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute

  solution validation and interoperability testing

  of optical transport platforms and line systems.
• Develop and maintain

  comprehensive test plans

  , set up lab configurations, and validate system performance, features, and scalability.
• Conduct

  DWDM/OTN testing

  , including

  spectral analysis

  ,

  fiber impairment validation

  , and

  amplifier tuning

  across various topologies.
• Validate transport of high-speed services (e.g.,

  100G/400G/800G

  ),

  Layer 0/Layer 1 grooming

  , and

  client-side protocols

  (Ethernet, SONET/SDH, Fibre Channel).
• Collaborate with

  architecture, engineering, and operations teams

  to troubleshoot and isolate system-level issues.
• Use

  network management platforms

  for service provisioning, monitoring, and fault isolation.
• Document all test activities and outcomes, and provide feedback to product development teams for enhancements and issue resolution.
• Support

  network upgrade simulations

  ,

  regression testing

  , and

  performance benchmarking

  prior to deployment.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in

  optical solution validation

  ,

  network integration

  , or

  system testing

  .
• In-depth understanding of

  optical transport technologies

  , including

  DWDM

  ,

  OTN

  , and

  amplification techniques

  .
• Experience validating transport services (100G and above) and interoperability across vendor-neutral environments.
• Solid knowledge of

  fiber optics

  ,

  optical impairments

  , and

  physical layer troubleshooting

  .
• Familiarity with

  client-side interfaces

  and technologies such as Ethernet, SONET/SDH, and Fibre Channel.
• Skilled in using

  optical test equipment

  such as Optical Spectrum Analyzers, Bit Error Rate Testers (BERT), and OTDRs.
• Proficiency with

  network management systems

  and service orchestration tools.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
