Operation Theatre (OT) Nurse Location: Dr. Kennedy's Saraswathy Multispeciality Hospital - Madipakkam Address: 92/A, Bazaar Main Rd, Sastri Nagar, Madipakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600091 Experience Required: 2–3 Years Department: Nursing – Operation Theatre Job Type: Full-time Job Summary: Dr. Kennedy's Saraswathy Multispeciality Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Operation Theatre Nurse with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in surgical environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting surgical teams during operative procedures, ensuring optimal patient care, and maintaining sterile environments throughout the surgery. Key Responsibilities: Prepare the OT before surgery, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterilized and ready. Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during operative procedures. Monitor patient vitals and condition before, during, and after surgery. Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infections. Handle and manage surgical instruments, sponges, and sutures. Document nursing care and maintain accurate patient records. Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital protocol. Support in post-operative care and patient recovery within the OT and recovery rooms. Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure seamless workflow and communication. Required Qualifications: Diploma or B.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution. Valid nursing registration/license. Minimum 2–3 years of experience working as an OT Nurse in a hospital setting. Sound knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and OT protocols. Skills and Attributes: Excellent clinical and observational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to stay calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and high level of precision in handling surgical instruments.
