OPERATION THEATRE NURSE

As a Surgical Nurse in our team, your role will involve various key responsibilities to ensure high-quality patient care and smooth surgical procedures: - **Role Overview:** You will be responsible for patient care by preparing patients for surgery, conducting pre-operative assessments, educating them about the procedure, and monitoring their vital signs during and after surgery. Additionally, you will manage the operating room to maintain cleanliness, sterility, and the availability of necessary equipment and supplies. Your role will also involve maintaining a sterile field within the operating room by assisting in the preparation and handling of instruments and supplies. - **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist the surgeon during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and medications, and monitor the patient's status. - Maintain accurate records of patient care, including medications administered, vital signs, and any complications encountered. - Collaborate effectively with other members of the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other nurses. - Adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent surgical site infections and other healthcare-associated infections. - Provide patients and their families with information about the surgery, potential complications, and post-operative care. - Be prepared to respond to emergencies, such as cardiac arrest or anaphylaxis, and assist with resuscitation efforts. - **Qualifications Required:** - Relevant education and certification as a surgical nurse. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergencies with composure. - Prior experience in surgical nursing is preferred.
