OpenTelemetry Developer - Datadog

Key Responsibilities

• Implement code-level instrumentation for Java and NodeJS applications using OpenTelemetry.
• Independently configure and manage OTEL Receivers for data ingestion.
• Export observability data from OTEL to Datadog for dashboards, monitoring, and visualization.
• Work with OpenTelemetry metrics and traces, ensuring full-stack observability.
• Develop and manage custom Datadog scripts and dashboards for application monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate observability into CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and optimize telemetry data collection for performance and accuracy.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 710 years of IT experience with at least 3+ years in OpenTelemetry implementation.
• Strong programming experience in Java and NodeJS.
• Expertise in OpenTelemetry metrics and tracing frameworks.
• Proven experience with Datadog observability platform including custom scripting, dashboards, and alerting.
• Hands-on experience with instrumentation, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
• Good understanding of microservices, APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in client-facing environments.
