JOB DESCRIPTION: Hardware Engineer Power Electronics

Qualification:

• Graduate degree in Engineering (Electronics o/ Electrical),
• Post Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering/Power Electronics Preferred
• M. Tech + 2 to 4 years or B. Tech + 3 to 5 years of experience in an organization from automotive / industrial electronics domain with exposure to power electronics system/sub-system development

Responsibilities:

• Design, analyze, test and validate power electronics circuits, such as 3 phase inverters, isolated and non-isolated DC-DC Converters etc.
• Component selection; power dissipation, efficiency and thermal analysis; worst case calculations;
• Schematic capture and circuit simulations
• Support PCB layout activity and prototyping activity
• Develop and maintain technical documents such as requirement specifications, design documents, bill of materials, DFMEA etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Should have thorough knowledge of power converters such as 3 phase inverters, DC-DC converters and their topologies
• Should have thorough understanding of semiconductor components such as power MOSFETs, IGBTs, Gate Drivers, etc.
• Should have thorough understanding of magnetics for power converters such as inductors and transformers. Experience in custom transformer/inductor design would be an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of different types of permanent magnet motors such as BLDC, PMSM etc., PWM techniques such as space vector PWM and motor control algorithms such as Field Oriented Control (FOC) would be an added advantage
• Should be skilled in virtual engineering (PSPICE/LTSpice, Altium Designer, ORCAD, MATLAB or similar)
• Knowledge of best practices in PCB layout for EMI/EMC
• Must understand and can participate in DFMEA
• Should have strong command over MS Excel
• Good communication and presentation skills
