Okta Developer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Okta Developer with 5 to 10 years of overall experience, including at least 3 years of dedicated experience with Okta. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collaborating with application owners, assessing compatibility, and configuring Okta to integrate various applications, ensuring seamless single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA). This role requires strong documentation skills, adherence to security policies, and excellent technical support capabilities within a cross-functional team environment. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate effectively with application owners and stakeholders to thoroughly understand their requirements for integrating their applications with Okta. Assess the compatibility of applications with Okta's authentication and authorization mechanisms, identifying potential challenges and proposing solutions. Configure and customize Okta to meet the specific needs of each application, including the implementation of Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and other relevant security policies. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the application onboarding process, including technical specifications, detailed configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures. Work closely with the IT security team to ensure that all application onboarding processes comply with established security policies, standards, and best practices. Provide expert technical support to application owners throughout the onboarding process, including troubleshooting integration issues and resolving configuration errors promptly. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and support, to ensure smooth and successful application onboarding and integration. Stay informed about new features, updates, and advancements in the Okta platform and proactively recommend best practices for application integration and identity management. Participate in security audits and reviews related to Okta configurations and integrations. Contribute to the continuous improvement of identity and access management processes and solutions. Required Skills & Experience: Overall experience of 5 to 10 years, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience specifically with Okta. Proven ability to collaborate with application owners and stakeholders to understand integration requirements. Experience in assessing application compatibility with Okta's authentication and authorization mechanisms. Hands-on experience in configuring and customizing Okta for SSO and MFA. Strong ability to develop and maintain documentation for onboarding processes (technical specifications, configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures). Experience working closely with IT security teams to ensure compliance with security policies and standards. Demonstrated ability to provide technical support to application owners during onboarding, including troubleshooting integration issues and resolving configuration errors. Experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams (development, operations, support) for successful application onboarding. Proactive in staying informed about new features and updates in the Okta platform and recommending best practices. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
