1. Therapy Development and Implementation:
a. Design and provide direct occupational therapy treatment to clients with autism in one-on-one and group contexts.
b. Conduct comprehensive assessments, including occupational therapy screenings and sensory profiles, to identify sensory, motor, and functional needs.
c. Develop and execute individualized therapy plans (ITPs) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, ensuring all therapy domains converge effectively.
d. Utilize evidence-based occupational therapy techniques to address sensory processing, motor coordination, and self-care skills.
e. Monitor and document the progress of each child (within timelines), making adjustments to plans as needed.
2. Parent Engagement and Counselling:
a. Actively engage with parents to provide clear guidance on therapy goals, strategies, and their role in the therapeutic process.
b. Counsel families to understand their childs needs and provide resources to support effective therapeutic practices at home.
c. Facilitate regular meetings with parents to review progress, address concerns, and celebrate milestones.
d. Build a strong partnership with parents to ensure continuity of therapy beyond the centre.
3. Collaboration and Teamwork:
a. Work closely with the BCBA-certified ABA therapist and other specialists to develop cohesive and effective therapy plans.
b. Participate in case discussions and contribute interdisciplinary insights to support the holistic development of children.
c. Proactively communicate and collaborate with team members to problem-solve, review clinical trends, and recommend improvements.
4. Championing ROH /ACA Values:
a. Embody and promote the core values of the Ray of Hope Center for Autism, fostering a positive and nurturing therapeutic environment.
b. Advocate for children’s developmental potential, ensuring therapy plans build on their unique strengths and capabilities.
5. Community and Awareness Building:
a. Engage with teachers and parent communities within the K-12 school (ACHS) campus to identify therapy needs proactively.
b. Provide support and raise awareness about autism and occupational therapy in the broader community.
c. Participate in community events, training sessions, and awareness programs to extend the impact of therapy beyond the center.
