Job Title:

Purpose of the Position

The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising nursing services to ensure the highest quality of patient care is delivered round-the-clock. The role requires maintaining nursing standards, supporting medical consultants, ensuring compliance, and fostering a positive work environment for nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plan and allocate ward duties to nursing staff.

2. Accompany consultants during ward rounds and record treatment instructions.

3. Ensure consultant instructions are strictly followed without deviation.

4. Review and analyze daily ward reports, and submit findings to the consultant/management.

5. Maintain adequate stock of medicines, equipment, and essential ward supplies.

6. Ensure proper handling and safety of high-risk drugs.

7. Arrange special nursing staff support during emergencies.

8. Maintain accurate medical and statistical records.

9. Handle patient complaints effectively.

10. Ensure adherence to discharge procedures.

11. Promote teamwork and maintain a positive ward atmosphere.

12. Enforce discipline, ethics, and professional conduct among nurses.

13. Conduct orientation and training programs for new nurses.

14. Counsel nurses when required and hold regular meetings to address issues.

15. Support staff development through training and mentoring.

16. Take responsibility for crisis management in emergencies.

17. Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • GNM or B.Sc. Nursing

Desirable:

  • Advanced training or specialization in nursing management

Experience

  • Minimum

    10 years of nursing experience

    (Required)
  • Experience in a supervisory/leadership role preferred
