Job Title: Nursing Incharge

Location: Dr. Aravind’s IVF Fertility & Pregnancy Centre, ( Chennai
Reports To: Medical Director / Hospital Administrator

Job Summary:

The Nursing Incharge will oversee and manage all nursing activities in the IVF and maternity unit, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, staff supervision, and operational excellence. This role focuses on fertility care, maternity support, OT management, and patient satisfaction while maintaining hospital protocols and compliance.

Key Responsibilities: Clinical & Patient Care

• Supervise all nursing services in IVF, OT, maternity, and fertility care units.
• Ensure safe administration of medications, injections, and IVF-related procedures.
• Assist doctors during fertility procedures, embryo transfers, and OT cases.
• Maintain infection control, patient safety, and quality care practices.
• Monitor patients post-procedure and during recovery with compassionate care.

Staff Supervision & Training

• Allocate duties, manage nursing schedules, and oversee shift rotations.
• Guide, train, and mentor nurses in IVF-specific care and patient handling.
• Conduct periodic training on OT protocols, fertility procedures, and emergency care.
• Monitor staff performance and maintain discipline and professionalism.

Coordination & Operations

• Coordinate between doctors, embryologists, lab staff, and administration.
• Maintain proper documentation: patient records, consent forms, and reports.
• Ensure availability and upkeep of OT instruments, medicines, and IVF supplies.
• Support emergency situations and manage critical cases efficiently.
• Address patient and family concerns with empathy and professionalism.

Compliance & Quality

• Implement NABH and hospital quality standards in nursing services.
• Ensure strict confidentiality of patient information.
• Conduct audits on nursing practices, patient feedback, and take corrective actions.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: B.Sc / M.Sc in Nursing (valid registration required).
• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in nursing; 1–2 years in a supervisory/incharge role. Experience in IVF, OT, maternity, or women’s health care preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, patient counseling, and multitasking ability.
• Knowledge of IVF, gynecology, and OT protocols.
