Job Title: Nursing Assistant

Reports To: Staff Nurse / Nursing Supervisor

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant provides basic patient care and supports nurses and doctors in delivering quality healthcare services. The role involves assisting patients with daily activities, maintaining hygiene, monitoring basic vital signs, and ensuring a clean and safe patient environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care

• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, feeding, dressing, and toileting
• Help in mobilizing patients (walking, transferring, positioning)
• Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, BP as instructed)
• Observe and report patient condition changes to the Staff Nurse

Clinical Support

• Assist nurses during procedures and examinations
• Prepare patients for investigations, treatments, or procedures
• Transport patients safely within the hospital (wards, ICU, OT, diagnostics)
• Collect and transport specimens as directed

Hygiene & Infection Control

• Maintain cleanliness of patient areas, beds, and equipment
• Follow infection control protocols and hand hygiene practices
• Dispose of biomedical waste as per hospital policy

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain basic patient care records
• Communicate politely and empathetically with patients and attendants
• Follow instructions given by nurses and supervisors

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure patient safety and comfort at all times
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and ethical standards
• Attend training programs and departmental meetings

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum education: 10th / 12th Pass
• Certificate or training in Nursing Assistant / GNM / ANM (preferred)
• Basic knowledge of patient care and hospital procedures
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in shifts, including nights and emergencies

Experience

• Freshers or candidates with 0–2 years of experience in hospitals or healthcare facilities

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
