Job Description

Purpose of the Role:

The person will be responsible for design, development, testing, and optimization of different types of cooling systems, air flow system, algorithm and various types of heat exchangers within the HVAC industry. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including engineers, designers, product developers, and clients, to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of cooling technologies, air flow system, algorithm and heat exchangers. Design and development of dehumidification technologies & Integration of these technologies with cooling systems.

Technical Requirement:

Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer:

  • In-depth knowledge of thermodynamic principles and their application in cooling systems.
  • Understanding of heat & mass transfer mechanisms (conduction, convection, radiation) and their role in HVAC systems.
  • Proficiency in calculating and analysing heat loads, heat transfer rates, and thermal performance.
  • Understanding of different dehumidification process and technologies
  • Fluid Mechanics:

  • Expertise in fluid flow principles and their application in HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics, pressure drops, and flow distribution in heat exchangers and cooling systems.
  • Ability to design and optimize fluid flow paths for efficient system operation.
  • Refrigeration Cycles and Refrigerants:

  • Comprehensive understanding of refrigeration cycles (e.g., vapor compression, absorption).
  • Knowledge of different types of refrigerants, their properties, and environmental impact.
  • Experience in selecting and optimizing refrigerants for specific applications.
  • System Simulation and Modeling:

  • Proficiency in using simulation and modelling software tools (e.g., CAD, CFD, HTRI, Unilab) for HVAC system design and analysis.
  • Ability to create accurate models of cooling systems and heat exchangers to predict performance and identify improvements.
  • Experience in conducting computational simulations to optimize system design and operation.
  • Control Systems and Automation:

  • Expert of HVAC control systems and their components (sensors, actuators, controllers).
  • Knowledge of automation technologies and building management systems (BMS).
  • Ability to design and implement control strategies for efficient and reliable system operation.
  • Expertise in defining new algorithms.
  • Materials and Manufacturing Processes:

  • Familiarity with materials used in HVAC systems and heat exchangers, including metals, plastics, and composites.
  • Experience of designing different types of heat exchangers
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, brazing, and machining.
  • Knowledge of material properties, corrosion resistance, and durability considerations.

Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of cooling technologies, including air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, heat pumps, and various types of heat exchangers.
  • Understand and apply principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer to cooling systems and heat exchanger designs.
  • In-depth knowledge of airflow control systems and defining new algorithms.
  • Understanding of different dehumidification process and technologies
  • System integration of mechanical, electrical, electronic & refrigerant control components.
  • Component selection based on specification requirement
  • Product Development:

  • Participate in the design and development of new cooling systems, dehumidification technologies and heat exchangers.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to create efficient and cost-effective products.
  • Testing and Evaluation:

  • Develop and implement testing protocols for cooling systems and heat exchangers.
  • Analyze performance metrics such as efficiency, capacity, reliability, and environmental impact.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend design modifications based on test results.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

  • Provide technical support to resolve complex issues related to cooling systems and heat exchangers.
  • Diagnose problems, recommend solutions, and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Industry Trends and Innovation:

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in cooling technology and heat exchanger design.
  • Participate in industry conferences, seminars, and forums to exchange knowledge and gain insights.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and best practices to enhance product offerings.
  • Training and Education:

  • Develop training materials and conduct workshops for engineers, technicians, and other professionals.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Consultation and Advisory Role:

  • Act as a consultant for projects involving cooling technology and heat exchangers.
  • Offer expertise in system design, energy efficiency optimization, sustainability practices, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with standard making agencies to provide recommendations.
  • Project Management:

  • Manage projects related to cooling systems and heat exchangers, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
