What You’ll Do

• Lead the migration of Node.js microservices / infrastructure from Tanzu/PCF/TKGI into GKE on Google Cloud.
  
• Design, deploy and manage highly available, scalable, secure Kubernetes clusters in GCP (GKE).
  
• Refactor Node.js services for cloud-native best practices in GKE: e.g., containerization (Docker), microservices architecture.
  
• Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to provision and maintain GCP resources (networking, security, clusters).
  
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI) to automate build, test, deploy of containerized Node.js apps.
  
• Set up and manage monitoring, logging and alerting using GCP Operations (Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Trace) for production reliability.
  
• Write clear documentation: migration plans, runbooks, operational guides, and mentor junior peers.
  

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 4+ years

  working with a major public cloud (preferably Google Cloud Platform).
• Hands-on experience with GCP services: GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud IAM, Cloud SQL/Firestore, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Monitoring/Logging.
  
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes: deployment, scaling, security, networking (VPCs, ingress, service mesh, resource management).
  
• Experience with containerizing Node.js applications (Docker) and working with microservices.
  
• Solid knowledge of Node.js: architecture, npm/yarn, asynchronous programming.
  
• DevOps mindset: building CI/CD pipelines, working with Git and branching/merge strategies, writing shell scripts (bash).
  
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  

Nice to Have (But Not Mandatory)

• GCP certification.
  
• Experience with container security scanning, vulnerability management in Kubernetes.
  
• Familiarity with advanced Kubernetes networking: NetworkPolicy, CNI plugins, service discovery.
  
• Prior experience migrating from Tanzu/PCF/TKGI.
  
• Experience with relational & NoSQL databases (Cloud SQL, MongoDB, etc.).
