Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION (Include primary purpose and major functions):

This position is responsible for testers for SDN based network controller test team.
Responsibilities include understanding requirements, involvement in Functional spec/Review, discussion with PLMs, analyzing various NE Specs, writing test procedures, Test Executions, updating Test results and raising bugs.
Plan and develop automated tests using Python and other 3rd party software, analyze failures and fix issues, Execute automated tests, perform automation code review, analyze results and generate reports.
Candidates for this job should have strong technical, analytical, scripting and testing skills and be capable of handling multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
Candidates should establish good teamwork and collaboration with team members.

Qualifications:

Candidate must at least have a bachelors degree or higher in CSE/EEE/ECE/IT
7 to 10 years experience in testing SDN based network controller systems/Network element testing. Experience in testing cloud-based network controllers/micro-service based controllers is a definite plus
Should be very strong in test automation using Python (Preferred language)
Must have knowledge of L0/L1 protocols like SONET/SDH, OTN, ROADM/DWDM. Knowledge of L2/L3 protocols like G-MPLS, G.8031, G.8032, Y.1731 Service OAM, Link Aggregation, VLAN, Bridging, OSPF etc is a plus
Proven skills in feature/functional/System/Integration testing.
Experience in Optical NE testing (OTN/ROADM) is a plus
Exposure to test/traffic generator tools would be a plus.
Knowledge/experience with end-to-end software engineering lifecycle
Experience of working in a Agile/DevOPS environment
Knowledge/experience with writing System Test Plans and System Test Specifications
Skilled in scripting languages (Python) and test case management tools
Familiar with JIRA as Problem Tracking tools
Familiar with Automation code collaboration/review tools like Gerrit. Exposure on Jenkins.
Familiar with Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
Good Troubleshooting and debugging skills, dedicated, goal oriented, and team player.
