ROLE DETAILS We are looking for someone whos passionate about developing high quality software products, with strong technical skills spanning manual test development. This is a key role for a capable senior tester in ensuring the robustness and reliability of our NMS software products through meticulous testing with a strong focus on quality. Beyond your direct testing contributions, you'll also need to mentor other testers, sharing your expertise and helping to cultivate a strong, knowledgeable team. Senior Test Engineer (Manual) Key Responsibilities Test analysis and design, including the detailed specification of test cases. Execute manual tests, expertly diagnose problems, and provide comprehensive reporting to the development team. Conduct thorough functional, performance, scalability, stability, and usability testing. Investigate complex issues, collaborating closely with wider NMS team staff, and reproducing and tracking problems to their source. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes and methodologies within an Agile Kanban framework. Mentor other software test engineers. qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering field. Minimum of 8 years of commercial software testing experience in a similar development environment Technical Competencies Essential (8+ years experience): Network Management System (NMS) Product Testing : Extensive experience testing NMS products. Networking Knowledge: Deep understanding of network routers, including VPN, VLAN, SyncE, PTP, and MPLS (e.g., CCNA level proficiency). Operating Systems : Expert in testing server-side and client-side applications on both Windows and Linux (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu). Databases: Proficient in working with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB. API Testing: Skilled in testing RESTful APIs using Postman and validating backend services. Network Protocols: Advanced experience in testing products using Netconf and SNMP protocols. Test Management: Proven expertise in test planning, design, and execution using various test case management tools. Test Design: Advanced skills in test case design methodologies and best practices. Problem-Solving: Strong test analysis and problem-solving skills with a track record of identifying and resolving complex issues. Agile Methodologies: Demonstrated experience working in an Agile Kanban environment Tools: Proficient user of Jira and Gitlab for issue tracking and version control. Desirable: Containerization: Familiarity with Docker and Podman containers. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with distributed teams across multiple sites, contributing to team goals. Our business is technology focused, with our core competency lying in the development of high-performance wireless telecommunications and networking products. You will work as a member of a team developing a Network Management System and Network Automation / SDN platform based on modern technologies. Technologies include NodeJS, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML5, Vue UI framework, YANG data modelling, SQL and non-SQL databases, network management (SNMP and NETCONF) and telecommunications networking (Carrier Ethernet and IP/MPLS), on Linux and Windows platforms. Technical Competencies As a System Test Automation Engineer with over 4 years of experience, my core technical strengths include: Network Management System (NMS) Product Testing : Proficient experience testing NMS products. Python Programming (4+ Years): Highly proficient in developing and maintaining complex automation scripts and frameworks. Robot Framework: Proven commercial experience designing and maintaining automated test suites using Robot Framework Web Automation Tools: Practical experience with tools such as Selenium or Playwright for UI testing API Testing & Automation: Skilled in automating RESTful API tests, including validation of request/response flows and error handling Databases: Proficient in working with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB. Network management protocol: Proficient in working with Netconf, SNMP Operating Systems: Proficient in testing server-side and client-side applications on both Windows and Linux (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
