NICU Nurse

1A NICU Nurse is a registered nurse who specializes in caring for newborns requiring intensive medical attention, typically premature or critically ill infants. This role involves providing round-the-clock care, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for the infant and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns in the NICU.
• Monitor vital signs (e.g., heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation) and respond to any changes promptly.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and nutrition, following physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment such as ventilators, incubators, and infusion pumps.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate and support families, guiding them through the NICU experience and involving them in care routines when possible.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and condition.
• Follow all safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Provide emotional support to families in high-stress situations.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to neonatal care.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).

Licensure/Certification:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
• Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-NIC) is a plus.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a NICU or pediatric setting preferred but not always required (some hospitals offer training for new graduates or nurses transitioning to NICU).

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
