Role Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic News Reporter to research, gather and deliver timely and engaging news stories across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, strong journalistic ethics, and a deep understanding of current events.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, investigate and develop story ideas independently or as assigned.
• Conduct interviews with sources, experts, and eyewitnesses to gather accurate information.
• Write clear, accurate, and compelling news reports within tight deadlines.
• Present live or recorded reports for TV/Radio/Online platforms.
• Attend press conferences, events, and on-site news locations to cover breaking stories.
• Collaborate with editors, producers, and photo/video teams to package news content effectively.
• Verify information and ensure factual accuracy and balance in all reporting.
• Maintain and develop a network of contacts and sources.
• Stay updated with local, national, and international news and trending topics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or a related field.
• Proven experience as a news reporter, journalist, or similar role (Internships counted).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong interviewing, research, and storytelling abilities.
• Knowledge of media production, broadcasting and publishing.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings as required.
• Understanding of journalistic ethics and laws.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with digital media, social media reporting and online news publishing.
• Proficiency in video editing or multimedia tools.
• Comfortable doing on-camera or live reporting.
• Ability to speak multiple languages (optional but a plus).

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Erode, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Willingness to travel:

• 50% (Required)
