Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive L1 Network Security Engineer to assist in the daily operations of network and security infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have foundational knowledge of routing, switching, VLAN configurations, and firewall operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage basic network security operations
Assist in configuring and troubleshooting routers and switches
Set up and maintain VLANs for secure network segmentation
Support basic firewall rule configurations and traffic monitoring
Escalate unresolved security and network issues to L2/L3 teams
Maintain logs and documentation for incidents and changes
Respond to alerts and perform basic log analysis
Provide support for VPN setup and access issues
Coordinate with IT and SOC teams for day-to-day network operations
Required Skills:
Knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI Model)
Basic hands-on with routing protocols (static, RIP, OSPF preferred)
Understanding of switching, STP, and VLANs
Familiarity with firewalls (FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA)
Good communication and troubleshooting skills
Willingness to work in rotational shifts if required
