Network Engineer

Job Summary:

L2 Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot

  Cisco routers, switches, and Palo alto firewalls

  in enterprise environments.
• Perform

  incident management, problem resolution, and root cause analysis

  for network-related issues.
• Manage

  LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, STP, QoS, and link aggregation

  configurations.
• Monitor network performance and ensure

  high availability and optimal performance

  .
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT and security teams to maintain secure network connectivity.
• Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and configuration records.
• Provide

  L2 support escalation

  for critical network incidents.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with

  Cisco routers

  and

  Cisco switches (Catalyst, Nexus series)

  .
• Proficiency in

  routing protocols

  OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and static routing.
• Deep understanding of

  Layer 2 technologies

  – VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, trunking, and port security.
• Knowledge of

  network monitoring tools

  (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, etc.).
• Experience with

  network troubleshooting tools

  – Wireshark, ping, traceroute, etc.
• Working knowledge of

  firewalls

  is a plus.
• Familiarity with

  SD-WAN and wireless networking

  is desirable.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Certifications (Required):

• CCNA / CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional)

  – Mandatory

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in

  Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
