Network Engineer (Cisco ISE & DNAC Specialist)

Overview:

What Youll Do:

Cisco ISE Responsibilities:

• Set up and manage Cisco ISE to control who can access the network.
  
• Connect Cisco ISE to other devices like switches, routers, and firewalls.
  
• Use Cisco ISE to secure wired, wireless, and VPN connections with features like

  802.1X

  .
• Fix issues with device connections and network access.
  
• Keep Cisco ISE up to date with the latest patches and security updates.
  
• Make sure network access follows company security rules.
  

Cisco DNAC Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain Cisco DNAC to manage and monitor the network.
  
• Use DNAC to check network health, find slowdowns, and fix issues.
  
• Use DNAC for automated tasks like setting up devices and managing traffic.
  
• Set up and manage

  Cisco SD-Access

  and

  SD-WAN

  using DNAC.
• Create scripts (using tools like

  Python or Ansible

  ) to automate tasks.
• Solve network problems using data and insights from DNAC.
  

General Networking Tasks:

• Work with other IT teams to keep the network secure and efficient.
  
• Check how well the network is performing and suggest improvements.
  
• Help with other infrastructure projects and upgrades.
  
• Guide and support junior team members.
  

What Were Looking For:

Education:

• A degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar. Equivalent work experience is also fine.
  

Certifications:

• Preferred:

  CCNP

  or

  CCIE

  .
• Bonus: Cisco certifications in

  ISE

  or

  DNAC

  .

Experience:

• 35 years of working in networking.
  
• Strong experience using Cisco ISE and DNAC.
  
• Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible) is a plus.
  
• Good understanding of basic networking (IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs).
  

Skills You Should Have:

• Strong knowledge of Cisco ISE features like device profiling and guest access.
  
• Good with Cisco DNAC tools for automation and monitoring.
  
• Understands security methods like 802.1X and RADIUS.
  
• Familiar with

  Cisco SD-Access

  and

  SD-WAN

  .
• Can troubleshoot and solve technical issues.
  
• Team player with good communication skills.
  
• Knows common protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, DHCP, and DNS.
  

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with cloud networking (like

  Cisco Meraki

  ).
• Knowledge of other security tools like

  Cisco Firepower
