Network Engineer

Role & responsibilities

THE PERSON:

You are a self-starter who is able to achieve successful outcomes in a non-hierarchical

environment.  Detailed oriented, you have the ability to multitask through

planning/organizing.You have excellent communication and presentation skills and a passion to

push the limits of software on innovative platforms. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Develop and implement automation tools and scripts (using languages like Python, Go,

etc.) to automate network tasks like provisioning, configuration, deployment, and testing.

• Develop and implement monitoring systems to track network performance and identify

potential issues and troubleshoot automation-related problems.

• Automate the configuration and deployment of network devices and services

• Manage and maintain automated network infrastructure, ensuring it meets performance,

security, and reliability requirements.

• Ability to understand compiler library APIs and develop tests around these API for

functional, performance, negative, overflow/underflow test cases. 

• Define/develop/execute regression test models and track the results 

• Strong understanding of network protocols, technologies, and architectures. 

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

• Knowledge of cloud networking concepts and technologies

• Partner with network engineering team members to integrate automation solutions into

existing systems and workflows

• Drive innovation, document automation processes and provide training to other team

members

• Combine advanced software engineering skills with a drive to explore novel approaches

to solve important problems in heterogeneous computing at the large scales 

• Evaluate and review of existing processes and continuously strive to optimize the

workflow 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Proficiency in scripting languages like Perl, Python, Bash, Shell, C/C++ and experience

with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. 

• Extensive test development and automation experience, preferably in production

environments 

• Strong understanding of networking protocols, technologies, and concepts

• Having good analytical and debugging skills.  

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and their networking capabilities. 

• Knowledge of Windows and Linux environments 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with other teams 

• Experience with network device configuration and management tools.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science,

Engineering, or an equivalent
