Network Assurance Engineer

Purpose of the Role

Working on 24X7 shift pattern, in Mumbai AAE Network Operations Centre. Managing the Global Tx (DWDM and Sub-sea) Network and DCN using Network Management Systems and Operational Support Systems in coordination with Mumbai NOC. Shift Engineer will ensure that all Faults, Planned Work and Activation requests are carried out to comply with Service Level Agreements, and that all processes and procedures are being correctly followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform network monitoring and open/act Trouble Ticket (TT) as per process and handle faults related to Subsea, DWDM and SDH network.
• Coordinate and extend the support to Mumbai NOC A in Surveillance and fault management from Singapore.
• Perform analysis and diagnosis on complex networking problems, identify issues and resolve faults.
• Liaise with Cable Landing station Engineers to manage and clear network related faults.
• Communicate with Cable landing stations and escalate where necessary both internally and externally in order to meet SLAs
• Activation/Provision of new services onto the network as per Work order and ensure quality is maintained by testing and ensuring any network changes are recorded and logged onto Configuration OSS database/tool.
• Maintain MTTR, MIT , RFO and Service reports to the customers as per the KPI
• Follow Global work instructions to all laid down procedures and ensure service quality.
• Handle escalations and be a focal point to all sub-sea Transmission network related queries.
• Participate in Planned works as per schedule.
• Maintain proper documentation, Case history in tickets database.
• Additional responsibility to manage DCN setup.
• Coordinate with Sub-sea Cable Landing Stations during Cable faults and coordinate for COTDR test.
• Initiate and take part in planned restoration and normalization activities as per laid down procedure.
• Reduce downtime on network related fault by providing workarounds and alternatives.

Key Deliverables

'Working experience in -

- Sub-sea cable NOC operations .

- Cable Landing station.

- Exposure to Sub-sea systems like Alcatel , Ciena , NEC, Tyco , Infinera, Xtera.

- Hands on experience on DWDM , ROADM systems

- Knowledge of Cloud technology, Programmimg in Python / other scripting language is desirable but not compulsory.

- Knowldge of basic IP / Internet technology is desirable .

- Good communication skils and command in English.

B.E. ( Electronics and Telecommunication preferred)

* Knowledge of Submarine Cable Systems & Equipments

* Surveillance and monitoring of fibre optic networks.

* Knowledge of Network Management Systems

* Knowledge of Add Drop Multiplexers

* Knowledge of DWDM , ROADM systems

* OSS/OFFICE:

* Use of a trouble ticketing system

* Use of PC and Microsoft Office packages
