Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and support network hardware and software, including
routers, switches, firewalls
, and
wireless access points
.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime.
Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patching of network devices.
Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and subnet configurations.
Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for network-related issues.
Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and change logs.
Assist in disaster recovery planning and network backups.
Work with vendors and service providers for hardware, connectivity, and support.
Stay current on new technologies and make recommendations for upgrades or improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
25 years of experience as a
Network Administrator
or similar role.
Hands-on experience with
Cisco
,
Juniper
,
Aruba
, or similar network equipment.
Strong understanding of
TCP/IP
,
DNS
,
DHCP
,
VPN
, and
routing/switching protocols
(e.g., OSPF, BGP).
Familiarity with
firewall administration
,
IDS/IPS systems
, and
Wi-Fi networks
.
Experience with network monitoring tools such as
SolarWinds
,
PRTG
, or
Nagios
.
Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.

Desirable Skills and Certifications:

Certifications such as:
CCNA
,
CCNP
,
Network+
,
CompTIA Security+
, or
Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS
Basic scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with VoIP and unified communication platforms.
