Murex Senior Developer

Job Description

A key aspect of this position is offering a detailed point of view on technology stacks, packages, and the latest technology and business trends in one or more TRM areas (e.g., Fixed Income, FX, Clearing and Settlement). You'll also drive the authoring of technology proofs of concept and white papers. Crucially, you will interact with clients (from both Business and IT Organizations) to translate business requirements into technology specifications for specific Murex modules within a project. Responsibilities: What You Will Do Implement (hands-on) Murex module components following Sapient and industry best practices. These components may be custom-built, utilize third-party tools, or extend a TRM industry package. Estimate the implementation and deployment of Murex modules, considering module design, project architecture, construction and testing strategy, and overall project plan. Provide production support for multiple modules or the entire application/package, including resolving hot issues and implementing/deploying enhancements. Offer a detailed point of view on technology stack, package, and latest technology and business trends in one or more areas of TRM (e.g., Fixed Income, FX, Clearing and Settlement). Drive the authoring of technology proofs of concept and white papers. Interact with clients (from Business and IT Organizations) to create technology specifications from business requirements for Murex modules. Prepare the technical design of complex technology components within the Murex module (e.g., MXML Exchange, DataMart, Market Data, Back office). Participate in and, in some cases, drive design reviews of other modules , providing insightful comments to improve design quality and conformance to standards. Contribute beyond a specific module to the overall Murex application area . Assist the architect in articulating the pros and cons of different technology stacks or components to clients and project teams, driving the selection of technologies and designs for an optimal Murex architecture. Implement application slices (EAR) and proofs of concept (spike solutions) to validate new technologies or integration scenarios in the module. Evaluate any products or custom controls around Murex required for the module. For package implementations, perform gap analysis between business requirements and package features, and design the necessary configurations, customizations, extensions, and interfaces. Drive performance tuning, re-design, and re-factoring for a module. Provide innovative solutions to project-level technical issues. Contribute to designing and implementing the build and release process , as well as system configuration and deployment characteristics of the application. Critique designs created by other designers and help identify design and performance improvements. Qualifications 4-6 years of hands-on Murex MXML experience . Ability to prepare technical designs for complex Murex module components (e.g., MXML Exchange, DataMart, Market Data, Back office). Experience in design reviews, contributing to overall Murex application area. Ability to assist in technology selection and architectural decision-making. Experience with implementing proof-of-concepts for new technologies or integration scenarios. Experience in evaluating products and custom controls related to Murex. For package implementations, experience in gap analysis and designing configurations, customizations, extensions, and interfaces. Proven ability in performance tuning, re-design, and re-factoring for modules. Demonstrated ability to provide innovative solutions to technical issues. Experience in contributing to build, release, configuration, and deployment processes. Ability to critique designs for improvements.
