Mortgage Title Review Specialist

The Mortgage Title Review Specialist role involves reviewing and analyzing title documents to ensure clear ownership and identify any issues that may impact the mortgage process. You will need to have a deep understanding of title documentation, liens, encumbrances, and legal descriptions. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are crucial for this position. Your responsibilities will include reviewing various title documents for accuracy and completeness, identifying and resolving title issues such as liens, judgments, encroachments, and easements, determining the impact of credit based on title commitments, and verifying legal descriptions, ownership history, and chain of title. You will collaborate with title companies, attorneys, and internal teams to address title issues, ensuring compliance with underwriting and investor guidelines, documenting and communicating findings clearly, updating systems with status and notes, and assisting in resolving post-closing title issues. To excel in this role, you should have at least 2 years of experience in mortgage title review or a related field, a strong knowledge of title documentation and real estate law, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective written and verbal communication abilities. You must be able to follow complex task processes, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and title software systems, possess high attention to detail and organizational skills, work both independently and collaboratively in a remote setting, and be available to work U.S. hours.
